Kampot Province: On the morning of Friday, November 1, 2024, Mr. HUOT Hak, Minister of Tourism and Chair of the Inter-ministerial Committee for Organizing the Sea Festival, presided over a meeting to prepare for the 11th annual Sea Festival. The Royal Government of Cambodia has approved the event, which will be hosted in Kampot Province from December 13 to 15, 2024, under the high presidency of Samdech Moha Bovor Thipadei HUN Manet and Her Excellency Dr. Pich Chanmony.

The meeting was attended by Mr. MAO Thonin, Governor of Kampot Province and Vice Chair of the Inter-ministerial Committee, along with senior leaders from various ministries, institutions, and representatives from the private sector, totaling 178 participants, at the Bokor Conference Hall, Kampot Provincial Hall.

Mr. Minister HUOT Hak remarked that the Sea Festival has been organized 10 times so far, with Kampot hosting it three times, in 2015, 2019, and now in 2024. This year's event will take place under the theme “Celebrating Heritage and Coastal Sustainability,” aligning with Kampot’s designation as a “Cultural Heritage and Agri-Tourism Destination.” Kampot Province was selected to host this year’s Sea Festival with the aim of promoting the potential of Cambodia's coastal tourism and encouraging the commitment of all stakeholders in the conservation and sustainable development of coastal areas. Special focus is being placed on enhancing and improving the quality of services in the tourism industry.

Mr. Minister emphasized the need for proactive, collaborative efforts among ministries, sectors, and institutions, underpinned by a strong sense of responsibility, connectivity, and integration.
